Last year we rolled out a major update to our comments system by changing platforms from Disqus to native WordPress comments to help improve user experience.
Since the rollout we have not made it a requirement to register on our website to participate in the comments section of our articles, to make it easy and accessible to all readers.
Unfortunately this has also led to a consistent presence of unwanted spam comments populating our comments sections. Despite the implementation of automated rules and regular comment moderation, we are finding spam comments including from bots are infiltrating our comments sections too often, resulting in a less than ideal user experience for our genuine readers and commenters.
In order to better control spam, we have now made it a requirement to register in order to comment. If you have an existing WordPress account, you can login to comment. If you do not have an existing WordPress account, you will need to create one using the login link at the top of our comments section. You may choose to use your existing Disqus or Google accounts for a faster registration process.
Once registered, you will be able to remain logged in if using the same device, removing the need to login each time you visit our website.
We thank you for you understand and continued support for our website, and look forward to seeing the continuation of great discussions on our article pages.
