BYD has set another record for the highest New Energy Vehicles (NEV) production month in the company’s history.
In November, the company produced 230,427 NEV. This showcases the continued ramp of BYD’s production as they launch in various new markets, including Australia where it sold 845 Atto 3s in November. The overall November production figures are 153% above the same time last year.
November production has increased by 5.8% when compared to October which was the second month of over 200,000 NEVs produced.
The battery-electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles shared a nearly 50-50 split. 49.4% were battery-electric vehicles and accounted for 113,915 of the production. It also includes BYD Atto 3 which is sold here in Australia.
Late in November, the more affordable Dolphin hatchback EV from BYD was spotted testing in the streets of Sydney. This is a good sign for the brand to launch more EVs in Australia after the popularity of the BYD Atto 3.
The BYD Atto 3’s popularity is also seen in the used EV market here in Australia with recent data showing significant markups for used Atto 3 EVs. According to company reports, a total of 12,318 of the BYD NEV in November were for export markets.
With production ramping up for the last 8 months, it’s looking promising for BYD’s expansion into new export markets while supporting existing ones.
