GWM has become a better-known brand with big plans in the EV space for Australia and other right-hand markets like the UK.Ā
Its first right-hand drive EV, the Funky Ora Cat EV hatch, Ā has previously been spotted on our roads here in Australia.Ā Now, the Chinese carmaker planning to hype it up in the UK as it sets off to do a new roadshow.
EV buyers that had submitted expressions of interest in this city EV have been contacted by GWM in the UK to RSVP and get a preview of this new EV about to hit the streets of UK. The invite says:
āYou could be amongst the first in the UK to get up close and personal with our highly anticipated ORA Funky Cat First Edition launch model.ā
The roadshow kicks off on Wednesday, November 2 in Glasgow. From there the roadshow would head to Braintree then Wolverhampton and finish up in Bristol.
This is a great chance for interested EV buyers to ask questions and see this city EV in person. Having seen it in Melbourne next to a Tesla Model 3 in late August, it looks like a fun zippy EV.
With GWM plans to bring this EV to the UK before the end of the year, a possible launch in a right-hand drive like ours might not be too far after that. The more options and segments new EVs cover (in this case an affordable inner-city car) the better it will be for the EV uptake in Australia.
