Three local government councils representing Sydney’s eastern suburbs are seeking community feedback on electric vehicle uptake in the region and, more specifically, on their constituents’ EV public charging habits and preferences.
Randwick, Waverley and Woollahra Councils have joined forced to launch an online survey, open to feedback from their communities until Sunday August 29.
The short survey is particularly interested in learning about people’s attitudes to public EV charging, including preferred locations for public charging stations in the region, to help inform future projects and investment.
“We understand that not everyone has access to off-street parking to charge an EV,” the online survey page says.
“We want to enable those people living and working in our region to feel confident to purchase and own an EV, knowing they can charge it locally.”
The push for public feedback by the three councils builds on their previous efforts to support electric vehicle uptake in the region, including the 2019 launch of a network of on-street electric vehicle charging stations.
As The Driven reported at the time, the councils installed the renewable energy powered on-street chargers at some of Sydney’s most iconic spots, including Bondi beach, Double Bay, Coogee beach and Maroubra.
