Renault and Mercedes-Benz throw in free wall chargers in Australia offering

European car makers Renault and Mercedes-Benz are bringing some spark to the end of the financial year, by throwing in some valuable inclusions with the Renault Zoe and Mercedes-Benz EQC.

The offers, which both include free wall chargers including installation with purchases of either vehicle until the end of June, aim to encourage drivers to make the switch to electric mobility.

In Australia, the Renault Zoe is one of the most affordable electric vehicles in Australia and starts from just under $50,000 driveaway, whereas the Mercedes-Benz EQC is at the higher end of the price spectrum at $137,900 before on-roads and options, offering all the premium features and add-ons that come with its luxurious price tag.

For the Renault Zoe, the offer of a free 7kW wall charger including installation and a 5-year warranty greatly increases both the value of the $49,900 Zoe and will enable its 41kWh battery which offers 300km real world driving range to be recharged at home in around 6 hours.

As Renault Australia managing director Anouk Poelmann points out, the offer could be even better for businesses wanting to take advantage of the increased instant asset write-off which is now expanded to purchases under $150,000.

The Mercedes-Benz EQC, which offers up to 400km driving range from its 80kW battery, can charge at a rate of 30km an hour on the Wallbox and can also take advantage of growing DC fast charger networks on Australia.
