Chinese battery manufacturer and automaker BYD first entered the Australian market with their T3 electric van during 2021, which was imported and sold locally through EVDirect. The T3 was offered for a limited time with a price well under $50,000 that crowned it Australia’s cheapest fully electric vehicle.
Around 50 examples of the T3 van are thought to be circulating in the country, with several of these making their way onto Lord Howe Island.
