Chargefox has announced that it has teamed up with petrol giant bp to allow the fuel companyās EV charging sites to be available to Chargefox EV charging app users.
This will bring over 270 bp pulse charging plugs to the Chargefox networks, which can be used either through the phone app of an RFID card.
Chargefox is emerging as the biggest network outside of Tesla, boosting hopes that EV users will not have to download multiple different apps on their phone as they look for charging sites on the road.
āOur goal for Chargefox is simple – provide the most chargers to the most drivers,” said Islam Hassan, the chief customer officer from Australian Motoring Services, the operators of Chargefox.
āFor bp pulse, being on the Chargefox platform means more drivers can find andĀ access rapid and ultrafast chargers across the country. Drivers benefit by havingĀ easy, secure access to more chargers. Ultimately, everyone wins by accelerating the transition to Electric Vehicles.”
Antoine Denis, the general manager of bp pulse Australia, said the company is drawing on its global EV charging experience to build a fast-charging network in Australia thatās supported by bpās convenience stores.
“With barista-made coffee at bpās wildbean cafes, EV drivers charging with bp pulse can easily grab a coffee or snack while their vehicle chargers – a win for drivers on-the-go,ā he said.
The addition of chargers on the Chargefox app will mean that over 300,000 users of the app will be able to see and use these additional 270+ plugs, reducing charging anxiety, particularly for new EV drivers and those travelling.
According to Chargefox, this bp pulse roaming deal allows it to strengthen its position as Australiaās leading EV charging platform, providing more access to charging options across metropolitan, regional, and rural areas nationwide.Ā
