Breaking: Tesla has increased the price of the Tesla Model 3 and Tesla Model Y in Australia, just one week after launching the Model Y in Australia.

As The Driven reported earlier today, a price hike in the US was implemented overnight. However, at the time of publishing that story, there was no price increase in Australia.

Tesla has now updated the price of the Model 3 from $63,900 to $65,500 for the base RWD Model 3 – a $1,600 increase.

The Long Range Model 3 is now priced at $80,000 up from $76,200 – a $3,800 increase.

The Performance Model 3 now costs $91,600 up from $88,900 – a $2,700 increase.

All prices are before on-road fees and taxes. Notably, the RWD Model 3 will still qualify for most state EV rebates.

The Model Y on the other hand has jumped up to $72,300 from $68,900 for the RWD variant – a $3,400 increase.

The Performance Model Y is now available from $96,700 instead of $93,900 – a $2,800 increase.

A spokesperson for Tesla confirmed that orders for the Model Y placed before the price rise will be honoured, unless there is a change to an order such as adding Enhanced Autopilot or a change of variant.

It is understood that other changes such as colour or wheel will only change pricing depending on the options premium. But as always, please check with your Tesla sales rep to confirm.
