Subaru has announced pricing and specs of the all-new Trailseeker, its second battery electric vehicle in Australia. The electric SUV willĀ start from $67,990 before on-roads for the AWD variant, with the Touring variant coming in at $73,990 before on-roads.
The Trailseeker is set to arrive in coming months with an AWD powertrain delivering 280 kW of power, helping it sprint from 0-100 km/h in around 4.4 seconds. This also makes it the quickest Subaru SUV of any type on the market.
It will be powered by a 74.7 kWh battery pack from CATL, which can deliver up to 533 km of range. Vehicle-to-load (V2L) is also on offer with a 1.5 kW load rating to charge or power essential equipment when the car is parked.
Scott Lawrence, GM of Subaru Australia, said the Trailseeker will combine the response and control of a performance car, the space and practicality of a large wagon, and good ground clearance of 211 mm.
“On the road it feels sharp, composed and effortless over distance ā beyond it, that capability doesn’t fall away. The balance, traction and control are there to tackle back-country roads and real Australian terrain without hesitation,” he said.
“Intelligent technology is central to how it all comes together … we believe it sets a new benchmark for what an electric vehicle can be, and we’re excited to see it out on Australian roads,”

On the inside, a 14-inch infotainment screen is available along with a 7-inch LCD display. The interior also has physical controls for key functions which many new EV buyers would appreciate.Ā Ā
Other features include premium leather trim, a digital rear view mirror, dual wireless phone chargers, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The top-spec AWD Touring variant adds a premium Harman Kardon sound system, panoramic glass roof with an electric retractable sunshade as well as ventilated front seats.
On the safety front, the Trailseeker comes with Subaruās latest safety tech thanks ot its Subaru Safety Sense suite.
The Trailseeker also appears to be a big step up in its styling and is closer in looks to the Forrester, helping more drivers consider this car over the ICE lineup than ever before.Ā
We look forward to putting it through itās paces when it lands in the coming months. The Subaru Trailseeker is expected to arrive locally this quarter and pre-orders can be made from now on the companyās website or via its dealers.
