A week after we got behind the wheel, Zeekr has confirmed the missing piece of the puzzle for its updated Zeekr X: pricing.

As expected, the refreshed Zeekr X will start from $48,900 driveaway for the rear-wheel drive, with the all-wheel drive priced from $57,900.

As we found in our recent drive, the updates to the X are meaningful, but it’s the price that will ultimately decide how much buyers will pay attention.

As part of the update both variants get a performance bump, with the RWD now producing 250kW and the AWD stepping up to 365kW combined.

That translates to a claimed 0–100km/h time of 3.7 seconds for the AWD. But the more meaningful upgrade is charging, with the RWD model now supporting up to 230kW DC fast charging, with a claimed 10–80 per cent time of around 18 minutes , roughly 12 minutes faster than before.

The AWD sticks with 150kW DC and around 30 minutes to 80 per cent.

AC charging has also been lifted to 11kW (RWD) and 22kW (AWD), which better aligns with how most Australian owners actually charge day-to-day.

What hasn’t changed much is range. The updated X is rated at 405km WLTP for the RWD and 415km for the AWD. These figures that are fine, but increasingly unremarkable as competitors push further.

Zeekr’s bet appears to be that buyers will prioritise performance, charging speed and equipment over outright range. That may well hold true, but it’s the one area where the X doesn’t move the segment forward.

At a starting price of under $50k driveaway, the X will compete in the same space as cars like the Tesla Model Y RWD, and a growing list of Chinese competitors.

Features like heated seats front and rear, a 13-speaker Yamaha sound system and updated cabin finishes are now included across the range, rather than buried in options lists.

In our earlier review, the updated Zeekr X felt quick, well-equipped, and with a cabin that had clearly been reworked to address some of the usability quirks of the original.

The AWD variant, with its massage seats and built-in fridge, reflects the feature-heavy approach Zeekr is becoming well-known for. For $9k less, the RWD is likely to be the volume play.

As part of the launch, Zeekr is also throwing in a range of incentives for early buyers, including a home charger, colour upgrades and extended warranty for orders placed before the end of May.
