GWM has revealed Australian pricing for its new Ora 5, with the small electric SUV set to start from $33,990 driveaway when it arrives in showrooms from June.
A higher-spec Ultra variant will be priced from $36,990 driveaway, keeping the entire range under $40,000.
The Ora 5 moves GWM further into the small SUV segment, with a larger footprint than the existing Ora hatch and a longer wheelbase. But despite the increase in size, pricing remains broadly in line with where the hatch has previously sat.

GWM first introduced the Ora brand locally with the Ora hatch, a compact electric hatch positioned as one of the more affordable EV options on the market.
While it carved out a niche with its distinctive design and competitive pricing, it remained a relatively small player in a market increasingly dominated by SUVs. The Ora 5 signals a shift toward that more popular format, as GWM looks to expand the brand’s appeal and volume potential.
Power comes from a 150kW front-mounted motor paired with a 58.3kWh LFP battery, delivering a claimed range of up to 430km (WLTC).
DC fast charging is rated at up to 120kW, with a 30–80 per cent recharge time of around 20 minutes under optimal conditions.
The ORA 5 also includes vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, allowing it to supply up to 6kW of external power.
The arrival of the ORA 5 comes as competition intensifies at the lower end of the EV market, with several brands targeting sub-$40,000 pricing to attract more mainstream buyers.
