MG last month added further incentives to customers, on top of a $5,000 cash back offer that it had already announced for its popular MG4 electric hatchback models.

Now it appears that all MG4 stock has run out during March, amid a surge in EV buying interest, but in April the company is offering a $500 accessories incentive on its brand new, lower cost MG4 Urban EV and the MGS5 electric SUV.

On the MG4 Urban, customers who place an order on either the Essence 43 or 54 variants will recent $500 of free accessories. This incentive can also be applied to the purchase price, bringing it even lower than the starting price of $31,990 on the Essence 43 variant.

Similarly, MGS5 customers who order Excite or Essence variants in 49 or 62 kWh battery capacities are eligible for the same accessories offer.

For those private buyers looking into the premium offering from MG, the IM5 and IM6 buyers will receive the first 5 free services or up to 5 years if serviced once a year as well as the $500 accessories offer.

Incentives from the brand tend to be working since it’s already helped clear the stock of its MG4 hatchback, making way for a likely upgrade to the RWD best-selling EV from the brand.

These offers are available to buyers who purchase these models before 30 June 2026.

Back in April 2025, MG launched a premium electric vehicle brand, called IM, at the Melbourne Motor Show with two electric models: IM5 sedan and the IM6 SUV.

Then, in June 2025, the company announced driveaway prices of its three variants coming in at:

  • IM5 Premium and IM6 Premium (75KWH RWD) – $60,990
  • IM5 Platinum and IM6 Platinum (100KWH RWD) – $69,990
  • IM5 Performance and IM6 Performance (100KWH AWD) – $80,990

Last week, the company announced the driveaway pricing of its more affordable MG4 Urban EV, starting at $31,990 driveaway, making it the brand’s lowest-priced electric vehicle offering in the country and also beating the long-standing BYD Dolphin on price.

The top-spec Essence 54 variant comes with a bigger battery and a WLTP range of over 400 km, with a driveaway price that starts at $34,990.

We look forward to seeing how these April offers help the brand get more people behind the wheel of their EV range, especially at a time when EV interest is at an all-time high.
