Ferrari, one of the world’s most recognisable companies, this week unveiled new details for its upcoming fully electric sports car, including the name, Ferrari Luce.
In a press release that reads a little like taking a tour around an interior design exhibition, Ferrari unveiled the name as well as interior and interface design details for an electric sports car that Ferrari says “signifies the brand’s unwavering focus on the future”.
Designed in partnership with LoveFrom, a San Francisco-based creative collective founded by designer Sir Jony Ive – the British American designer known for his vital influence on Apple products such as the iPod, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch – with fellow designer Marc Newson.
LoveFrom has apparently been collaborating on every dimension of the Ferrari Luce’s design for the past five years in partnership with Ferrari Styling Centre, led by Flavio Manzoni.
The interior and interface design elements were on display at a launch hosted in San Francisco by Ferrari and LoveFrom and included reveals of everything from precision-engineered mechanical buttons, dials, toggles, and switches with multifunctional digital displays.
Enthusiasts can get a taste for all the new designs at a new website for the Ferrari Luce, which includes a raft of images visualising the controls, steering wheel, displays, interior, interface, and more.
Ferrari is also documenting the design and launch of the Ferrari Luce in a series of videos on YouTube, starting with its design from concept to reality.
