German automaker Volkswagen is revamping the pricing structure for its ID. Buzz range of all-electric people movers and vans in Australia, reducing the recommended retail prices to sit in line with the current driveaway offers.

The ID. Buzz arrived in Australia last year on the leading edge of significant interest in the long-awaited electric successor to the iconic Volkswagen Kombi van.

Volkswagen debuted the ID. Buzz back in early 2022 and saw immediate interest from around the globe, including in Australia, racking up thousands of expressions of interest by the second half of 2024. The ID. Buzz finally arrived Down Under during 2025 before Volkswagen unveiled in October significant discounts to boost sales.

And according to Michelle Rowney, the head of marketing and product for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, the discounted prices drew a strong response from Australian customers.

Originally intended to run through to the end of 2025, Volkswagen confirmed on Monday that the driveaway offers on the ID. Buzz Pro 5-seater and 7-seater, and the ID. Buzz Cargo 3-seater, will remain valid until 30 April 2026.

Currently, the ID. Buzz Pro 5-seater is available for $79,990 driveaway, and the Pro 7-seater for $84,990. The ID. Buzz Cargo commercial van is available for $72,990 driveaway.

In order to strengthen the ID. Buzz lineup in Australia, Volkswagen has aligned the manufacturer’s recommended retails prices (RRP) to sit closer to these popular driveaway prices, a decision the company says is designed to “maintain clarity and predictability for families, businesses, fleets and sole traders as they transition to electric mobility.”

The new RRP for the Volkswagen ID. Buzz range is now as follows:

  1. Buzz (Short Wheelbase – 5 Seater)
  • ID. Buzz Pro SWB BEV560 RWD, 1-Speed Auto: $75,990 RRP*
  1. Buzz (Long Wheelbase – 7 Seater)
  • ID. Buzz Pro LWB BEV560 RWD, 1-Speed Auto: $80,990 RRP*
  • ID. Buzz GTX LWB BEV 4MOTION, 1-Speed Auto: $104,990 RRP*
  1. Buzz Cargo (Short Wheelbase – 3 Seater)
  • ID. Buzz Cargo SWB BEV550 RWD, 1-Speed Auto: $69,990 RRP*

*Manufacturer’s recommended retail price (incl. GST).

“The ID. Buzz has captured the imagination of Australians: from families wanting an iconic EV people mover to businesses looking for practical zero-emission mobility,” said Michelle Rowney.

“The introductory offers were extremely well received, so we have aligned the RRP structure to these popular price points and extended the offers to give customers even greater confidence and clarity.”
