The Australian Electric Vehicle Association (AEVA) has chosen the Tesla supercharger station at New Italy in New South Wales as its 2025 Charging Station of the Year.

This is the second year that the award has been presented, highlighting the most reliable, convenient, well kept, and thoughtfully designed public EV charging station in the country.

The New Italy facility, located off the Pacific Motorway in northern NSW, offers a “very high level of amenity for EV users”, AEVA says, including a large solar array shading the 12 charging bays, as well as close proximity to a café, toilets, and gift shop, and pul-through parking for EVs towing trailers.

It also features tap-and-go credit card payment option.

“AEVA congratulates Tesla and the NSW Government for incorporating all the key elements EV drivers want in a charging station” said Chris Jones, the AEVA national president.

“This award shows the public and industry what EV drivers appreciate in a high-quality charging station.”

The runner-up was the crowd-funded fast charging station in Lake Grace in the eastern Wheatbelt region of Western Australia.

The inaugural winner of the award, conferred in early November of last year, was the RAA Snowtown EV charging station in the Mid North of South Australia. What is your favourite?
