Leapmotor, one of China’s fastest-growing EV brands, has unveiled a new affordable small electric SUV model, which the brand calls the A10.
The latest model made its debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show 2025, where it revealed its smallest SUV model so far, joining the larger C10 and the B10 electric SUVs – both of which are now available to order in Australia.
On it’s Weibo page, the company shared in a post: “Live from the Guangzhou Auto Show! Leapmotor A10 makes its debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show”.
The A10 is expected to go on sale in 2026, but from the outside, it appears to be one that will be competing with EVs such as the Atto 2, which was launched in Australia earlier this month.
According to a report from cnevpost, an executive from the company shared that this model is will launch next year with an expected price of its top-spec variant, not exceeding the equivalent of $A21,900.
For that price, customers can expect an EV with a range of 500 km on the CLTC cycle. That’s expected to be close to 400 km on the WLTP cycle, making it quite a competitive model.
Like other Leapmotor models, it is likely to feature a 56.2 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery pack, which the company uses in B10 and B05 EVs.
For comparison, the BYD Atto 2 offers 345 km of WLTP range, thanks ot its 51.3 kWh blade battery pack.
Styling-wise, it reminds us of a smaller B10 SUV which was recently launched in our market, at a pretty impressive driveaway price of $38,990.
Given the Leapmotor B10 is 4.5 metres in length, the A10 is likely to be around the 4.3 metres mark, making it a great compact model for many city SUV buyers.
Detailed specs and actual pricing will be announced early 2026 with plans for the car to be produced for the Chinese market in the first half.
Following that, it will be heading to Europe and other international markets, although it’s unclear if right-hand-drive markets would be part of the mix.
Earlier this month, the company officially opened its pre-sales of a new global-bound electric hatchback model, the B05, in the Chinese market with equivalent prices starting at just $A22,900.
All these models are expected to contribute to Leapmotor’s global expansion as the brand aims to grow its presence under the automotive giant Stellantis, which has a 50% stake in Leapmotor’s international expansion JV.
The latest reports also indicate that the company will aim for 100,000 sales in the international market next year, marking a significant milestone for the company.
For now, we look forward to seeing more details on the A10 next year, but in the meantime, we will get behind the wheel of the B10 in the coming weeks to see what the brand’s latest local offering is like.
