Honda has announced that it launch its first locally delivered EV to Australia in the form of a city hatchback it calls Super-One, and which will be the brand’s smallest car in the country.
Developed as a Super EV concept and initially unveiled at the Goodwood festival of speed months earlier, the Super-One is a 3.6 metre long hatchback and will be tuned in Australia for our market.
To appeal to those looking at transitioning to EVs, and who don’t enjoy the silence of an electric motor, there is a virtual noise generator that will provide an engine sound on the inside of the car and to imitate gear shift āfeelingā.
āHonda Super-One is a unique proposition for Australians living and working in dense urban environments, blending small car usability with premium Honda design and engineering,ā Honda Australia President and CEO, Jay Joseph said in a statement.
āDeveloped from Japanese Kei car concepts, Honda Super-One is designed to be an agile, quiet and playful inner-city EV thatās as fun to drive as it is to own.”
Specs of the car have not yet been released but in previous years, Honda did sell the Honda e model in Europe and Japan with up to 113 kW of power.
That hatchback was fed by a 35.5 kWh battery pack with 220 km of range. It never officially made it to Australia although there were some private imports.
Honda Super-one will launch in the second halfĀ of 2026 in Australia.
