Geely offers $2,000 off EX5 electric SUV in new leasing offer

Chinese car giant Geely earlier this month launched a new set of incentives to help keep the sales momentum that it has built with its first model in the Australian market, the EX5 electric SUV. This came in the form of a “complete EV ownership package” that added charging for home and when on the go.

Now, the company has launched a new novated lease offer for fleet management companies, with the rollout, delivering $2,000 off the price of a Geely EX5.

In an email the company sent to its subscribers, it said: “With a novated lease arranged through your employer and a registered FMO, you may be able to reduce your taxable income while reducing your everyday running costs from your salary package. On top of that, receive a $2,000 contribution on your new Geely EX5 during the Offer Period.”

This incentive will be applied to each purchased vehicle by Geely dealers at the point of sale and won’t be a cash back offer as previously provided by some brands.

The latest offer will be for vehicles purchased between 1 September 2025 and 31 October 2025 and is applicable on both variants of the SUV.

Geely launched in Australia with the EX5 SUV back in March 2025, with starting prices of $40,990 for the entry-level Complete variant, while a top-of-the-line Inspire variant started at $44,990, both before on-road costs.

For the Australian market, the EX5 comes with a 60 kWh battery pack that can deliver 430 km of WLTP range.

On the charging front, this battery, from 30-80% will take roughly 20 minutes, due to a 100 kW peak DC charging speed, and 11 kW AC charging.

Along with that, the vehicle-to-load (V2L) discharge rate is up to 3.3 kW, which is well received by many owners.

Last month, the company announced that it now has 43 dealers across the country, almost doubling its dealership count since launching.

The total sales of the EX5 SUV have come up to 2,736 over the last 6 months, making it one of the most popular EVs in the market in 2025.

With competition in the affordable EV segments on the rise, the level of incentives for consumers is likely to rise as we start Q4.

Multiple new models like the GAC Aion V, Leapmotor B10, Deepal S05 and BYD Atto 2 will also be entering the market, which will only heat things up. This, of course, presents more choices, making it an ideal time for drivers to purchase or lease an EV and save.
