Swedish electric car maker Polestar has announced pricing and specs of the 2026 version of its Polestar 2 sedan with upgrades seen on the inside and out, with faster charging speeds and more range – and without a change in current pricing.
The entry level single motor standard range, which starts at $62,400 before on-roads, features a new 70 kWh battery pack from CATL. This battery pack delivers up to 554 km of WLTP range, up from 546 km.
Along with that, the new battery adds faster charging speeds and now features up to 180 kW of DC charging, up from 135 kW. This means a 10-80% charge time of just 26 minutes, which would help with road trips.
In the long range, the single motor, dual motor and the performance variants are also offered with the larger battery. Their pricing are $66,400, $71,400 and $85,080 plus on roads, respectively.
Multiple add-on packs are also available as was the case with the previous model but with updates.
These are Climate, Pro, Performance and Plus packs and start at $1,500 before going up to $8,980 for the Performance pack. See full inclusions below.
A new exterior colour is also brought in with the new model which the company calls Dune. This will replace Jupiter which was offered in previous model years.
Tint is now applied to rear side windows, in addition to the tailgate window.
The entire 2026 range receives an upgrade to the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor chip, helping with better in car experience.
All Polestar 2s come with a five-year vehicle warranty, complimentary roadside assist, and five years of scheduled servicing.
MY26 cars can now be configured on Polestar’s local website.

I'd love to know how many Polestar 2s are sold to private buyers - nearly every P2 around Sydney is a rideshare, the Splend number plates give them away.
(Jumps onto the NSW RMS registration dashboard…)
Assuming Polestar is included under Volvo, then there are 3442 battery electric Volvos/Polestars registered in NSW as of yesterday, and 2560 of those, or 74.3%, are privately registered.
Tell Polestar we don't car about their Hardon Kardon sound system.....does it have V2G
My Kona has a Hardon Kardon sound system. Is it good? I don't know. Does it provide suitable sound?. Yes, quite clear to my septuagenarian ears.
Only 5 year warranty.
Polestar still playing the option pack extortion game. An optional heat pump that everyone else has standard - bundled with other crap you may not need or want to justify a "package" price. Time to abandon the old petrol sales strategies and design a platform that is cheaper to build, instead of extracting a profit with option packs.
Yeah.
Tesla would never do that.
One would need to be a BIG fan of Swedish products to even consider this as a viable option.
What a massive ''put off' their list of what they consider as an option.
The Chinese brands are teaching ALL other vehicle manufactures what they need to be presenting 'IF' they want SALES....!!
I checked out what Toyota are referring to as their latest EV.
It was 2 years behind theChinese EVs, loaded with 'piano black', weirdly sideways positioned phone charging positions, no 'this or that', a RW drive, priced at $81,000.....I am NOT kidding....!!!
And yet people pay stupid money for an iphone, also made in china.
What's your point?
For some, the price is irrelevant, it's all about the brand.
Take banksy. (please!)
In most countries it's graffiti and/or vandalism.
I'd like to see him spray paint a war plane. Coward.
Your logic makes zero sense. Apple is American company....maybe assembled in China I don't know, but apple is NOT a Chinese company. If you really want to talk about a phone business from China, you should talk about Huawei, xiaomi, OnePlus, etc. And guess what? Huawei also builds its own EV...
Can you read?
I said, made in china. Like armani, nike etc. etc.
Paying 60 grand for a p2 is absolute insanity, and having to pay extra for heat pump and power seating...this is why so many p2 are rental cars
