Zeekr 7X smashes expectations with over 1,000 Australian pre-orders in first week

Zeekr, the premium electric car maker, has announced that it’s secured over 1,000 pre-orders within the first week of price announcement on its highly anticipated Zeekr 7X electric SUV.

This has been the most exciting product from the brand, Zeekr International and Managing Director of Zeekr Australia Frank Li says the company is pleased with the positive market response.

“Achieving over 1,000 pre-orders in the first week indicates strong consumer interest in the 7X’s combination of advanced technology and practical luxury,” he said in a statement. “This reinforces our confidence in the Australian market’s readiness for premium electric vehicles.”

At the launch event in Sydney last week, the company revealed the Zeekr 7X SUV, which will also be Australia’s fastest-charging car on the market at launch, with 450 kW of charging speeds, allowing 10-80% charging in 13 minutes.

Three variants are being offered locally with sharper-than-expected pricing (before on-roads) coming in at:

• RWD – $57,900
• Long Range RWD – $63,900
• Performance AWD – $72,900

At launch, Zeekr also announced a special pre-order offer to the first thousand customers of this model, which includes a seven-year vehicle warranty and seven-year roadside assist. 

Buyers will also receive 7 kW home charger, a portable home charger, a type 2 charging cable, and complimentary colours on the inside and out. This offer has now been extended until this weekend and ends on 17 August.

For those customers who order a Zeekr 7X after 17 August, get a type 2 cable, a portable home charger as well as complimentary exterior paint colours and interior colours too. 

This part of the offer has been extended until the end of this quarter on 30 September 2025 and comes off the back of “overwhelming demand,” according to Zeekr.

The extended offer should help the brand get more early customers on its biggest SUV and arguably its most important model in the Australian market so far. 

That’s partially thanks to the popularity of the mid-size SUVs on our roads, where the Tesla Model Y leads the sales chart in year-to-date EV sales.

The entry-level RWD features Zeekr’s 75 kWh battery pack, which the company calls its golden brick Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery. 

This pack has been developed by Zeekr engineers in-house and allows for charging speeds of up to 450 kW, thanks to the 800 V architecture the model sits on. That’s of course at the right charger, which are likely to be deployed in the coming years.

This battery will also deliver up to 480 km of WLTP range on a single charge, while the Long Range RWD bumps that to 615 km. That model has a 100 kWh Nickel-Manganese-Cobalt (NMC) battery, providing a bump up in range for $6,000 more.

The line-up also includes the top-spec Performance AWD variant, with acceleration of 0-100 km/h taking just 3.8 seconds, down from 6 seconds in the entry-level RWD variant.

This top-spec Performance AWD variant’s range drops back to 543 km, thanks to the addition of the second motor but provides loads of power when on the road.

All of Zeekr 7X variants include V2L (vehicle-to-load) capability with 3.3 kW output, making it convenient to power other electrical devices when parked in the garage or when on the go.

The Zeekr 7X is the most anticipated car from the brand, and with over a thousand pre-orders already through the door, we expect to see a lot of EVs in the coming months.

First customer deliveries are expected to begin in October, with many receiving a car on this side of Christmas.
