German car giant Volkswagen has released Australian pricing of both variants of its newly introduced electric SUVs, the ID.4 and the ID.5.
Starting with the ID.4, the Pro was previously announced with a starting price of $59,990. The GTX variant’s price has now been set at $69,990.
The newest addition to the ID.4 lineup comes with a 250 kW all-wheel drive powertrain with a battery pack that delivers 511 km WLTP range..
Similarly, the ID.5 GTX price was released in February for $72,990. Now, the entry-level Pro variant’s pricing has been released, starting at $62,990. That’s $3,000 more than the Pro variant of the ID.4.
The ID.4 has sold 333 units so far in 2025, ranking it number 34 on the list of best selling EVs in Australia, although its July sales of 149 would have put it in the top 15. The ID.5 has so far sold 126 in 2025, putting it at 53rd on the rankings.
“The ID. 4 and ID. 5 are showing that BEV demand is indeed strong when you have the right line-up available to customers, at the right price, from a brand people trust, and with a level of aftersales support that inspires total confidence,” Volkswagen passenger vehicles head of product, Arjun Nidigallu, said in a statement.
“With Volkswagen’s decades-earned engineering prowess resulting in class-leading dynamics, elegant European exterior design, superbly intuitive interior ergonomics, and quality fit and finishes, all combined with value proposition that puts competitors on notice, the ID. 4 and ID. 5 have arrived to impress.”
Both new variants will be delivered as MY25.5 versions, which include wireless App-Connect for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as programable front seats massage function at no additional cost.
The ID.4 and ID.5 Pro variants come with following standard inclusions:
The GTX variants of both models include updated front and rear bumpers, body-coloured sides, 20-inch wheels and front foglights.
On the inside, the GTX variants include sports seats, GTX badging on the steering wheel and a Harmon Kardon premium audio system.
Having these new variants being made available, it is likely to bring more people to test-drive VW’s local EV lineup, but with competition in the mid-size SUV only heating up, special offers could be on the cards in the coming months to help move more units, especially in the era of NVES in Australia.

So damned expensive, they have no hope of getting good sales here at those prices.
That's ridiculously expensive. Cut the price (and improve the efficiency) if you want to sell any.
And still no ID.3 🙄
We wanted to test drive the ID.4, scheduled a time, but when we got to the dealer the vehicle was MIA. Lots of excuses and getting the run-around. After half an hour we walked out.
Amazing VW sells any cars at all with that kind of dealer experience.
