Nissan Australia last month announced the pricing and specifications of its next electric car in its local lineup, and released key details of its upcoming Ariya electric SUV. Now, the company has announced that the first Ariya EVs have set sail from Japan, destined for Australia in the coming weeks.

The Ariya is produced at Nissan’s Tochigi Plant in Japan and will be supplied from that plant to our market.

“Nissan wrote the mass-market EV blueprint with Leaf, and the Ariya represents the next chapter of our electric vision, with incredible design and technology and, most-importantly, an exhilarating and engaging drive experience,” said Warwick Daly, the deputy head of marketing and bobility at Nissan Australia.

The Nissan Ariya SUV comes in four variants, with pricing before on-road costs starting at a lower than expected $55,840 for the Engage variant. The complete Ariya line up includes:

  • Engage – $55,840
  • Advance – $59,840
  • Advance+ – $63,840
  • Evolve e-4orce – $71,840

It would be available in both 2WD and AWD versions and feature batteries ranging from 63 kWh to 87 kWh.

These provide ranges between 385 km and 504 km.

All models will be available in the coming weeks with a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, as well as a 12.5-inch driver screen. The Ariya will also come equipped with Wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto.

Two interior colour options are available, with black featured in all variants apart from the Evolve, which features blue nappa leather for seats.

The Nissan Ariya will come with a long ten-year 300,000 km warranty when serviced by a Nissan dealer network across the country.

Orders for Nissan’s most successful EV so far are expected can be placed via Nissan’s website now or by visiting a Nissan dealership.
