Deepal takes thousands off the price of its S07 SUV, just months after launch

Back in October 2024, Deepal’s S07 electric SUV was unveiled in Australia during a function at the iconic Bondi Beach in New South Wales. 

Following that, in November, Deepal’s local distributor, Inchcape, revealed the pricing of the mid-sized SUV at Sydney’s international EV auto show, starting at $53,900 before on-roads.

The company has not released sales figures to date, and now, Deepal has a plate clearance on MY24 build cars with thousands slashed off that original price and has a 12-month public charging offer, all bundled in.

Prices of the clearance models of S07 now start at under $50,000 driveaway, cutting around $8,000 off the original NSW driveaway price.

On top of starting at $49,990 driveaway for some paint options, these clearance models also come with 12 months of complimentary public charging, further sweetening the deal for new buyers.

For this price, drivers can expect a range of 475 km with its large 79.97 kWh Nickel-Manganese-Cobalt (NMC) battery pack.

This pack can be charged from 30-80% on a DC fast charger in about 35 minutes at a peak charging speed of up to 92 kW. 11 kW AC charging is also available.

For those interested in vehicle-to-load (V2L), this pack also offers this capability that can be discharged at a rate of up to 3.3 kWh. That’s ideal for powering things when on the go.

This relatively large pack also powers a single rear-mounted motor powertrain which produces 160kW of power and 320 Nm of torque. 

On the dimensions front, the Deepal S07 has a length of 4.75 metres which is similar to Australia’s best-selling electric car in 2024, the Tesla Model Y as well as the Xpeng G6.

Looking at the car’s consumption, this powertrain has been rated at 18.6 kWh/100 km, which is on par with a few of its rivals, although not as efficient as more popular SUVS like the Tesla Model Y or the Xpeng G6.

On the inside, there are two trims on offer for the interior – black and orange. There is also a large 15.6-inch floating centre infotainment screen. This screen can be rotated 15 degrees to give the driver a better angle.

Apple Carplay and Android Auto can also help owners bring their most useful apps into the car. There is also a heads-up display which helps keep the drivers eyes on the road.

Still inside, multiple storage options are available. With the seats up, the boot has 445 litres of space. When the rear seats are down, this increases to 1,385 litres.

On top of that, unlike some competitors like the Xpeng G6, there is a usable frunk with 125 litres of space. This is slightly more than the 117 litres found on the Model Y.

The Deepal S07 comes with a 7-year/160,000 km warranty on the vehicle, while there is an 8-year/240,000 km warranty on the battery pack. Both are fairly good offerings when compared to other EV brands in the market.
