Geely claims 1,000 orders in under 2 months for EX5 as it offers new incentives

In March, Geely, one of the newest brands, launched the EX5 electric SUV alongside its brand in the Australian and New Zealand markets.

Now Geely has revealed that it’s received over 1,000 orders and, to help with keeping the sales momentum going, it’s offering some notable incentives before the end of financial year.

This offer now includes a $2,000 trade-in bonus as well as a free level 2 home charger. On top of that, new customers will receive either a 5 years complimentary servicing or a $2,000 gift card.

Sales of more than 1,000 would likely place Geely in the top three or four best selling EVs in Australia, depending on how many were sold in March, and how many in April.

ā€œGeely understands the initial anxiety many Australians feel when considering their first electric vehicle,ā€ Lei Li, CEO of Geely Auto Australia, said in a statement.

ā€œQuestions around how and where to charge, ongoing costs of ownership, and how an EV compares to a traditional petrol or diesel car are very much front of mind for buyers. The EOFY offer has been designed to ease these concerns and make the transition to EV ownership feel simple, supported, and rewarding.ā€

The latest round of incentives come after the brand offered introductory offer on the EX5 SUV which included one-year complimentary public charging, a free 7kW AC charger for home, three years of complimentary scheduled servicing and upgrade to metallic paint.

These incentives were valid until the end of April which gave been followed up this end of financial year offer which will be applied to orders between now and until end at the end of June.

The Geely EX5 will be available in two variants, with prices starting at $40,990 for the Complete variant, followed by the top-spec Inspire, which is priced from $44,990 before on-road costs.

In Australia and New Zealand, the EX5 will be offered with a 60.22 kWh that can deliver 430 km of WLTP range.

On the charging front, this battery from 30-80% will take roughly 20 minutes, thanks to a 100 kW peak DC charging speed, making it a fairly decent car for road trips.

When it comes to AC charging, 11 kW of AC charging will be available along with vehicle-to-load (V2L) discharge rate of up to 3.3 kW.

The EX5 comes with a 7-year vehicle.and 8-year battery unlimited KM warranty.

Up to 7 years of complimentary roadside assist is also on offer for this SUV which recently received a 5-star ANCAP safety rating, giving buyers an additional piece of mind.

With two local variants of the new model that have additional incentives until the end of the year, it’s likely to grow the order books for Geely in the coming weeks.

As competition in the mid-sized electric SUV grows with the launch of more models from MG and others, it will give ICE SUV models a run for their money, helping many drivers make the switch from ICE vehicles to cleaner motoring in 2025.
