Last August, MG unveiled its halo electric car, its two-door roadster, to Australian drivers, following it up closely with the launch and price tag starting $115,000 before on-roads.
Now, the brand has launched a more affordable single-motor RWD variant of the car ā as opposed to the AWD only offering at launch ā which starts at $99,900 before on-roads and delivers up to 552 km of NEDC range.
Thatās 52 km more than the NEDC range figure of 500 km seen in the original AWD variant.
The latest, more affordable variant has a power output of 250 kW and a reduced torque of 475 Nm, helping it get a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 5,2 seconds.

According to the brand, the Cyberster is a unique car which highlightās the brandās history which dates back over 100 years.
āWe are excited to launch an additional variant in Australia. MG fans have asked for the rear-wheel-drive model, and weāre excited to now be able to deliver this model,ā MG Motor Australia CEO Peter Ciao said in a statement.
āDriving the Cyberster brings a smile to your face, we hope the additional model will help more Australians share this feeling.ā
On top of this announcement, another new colour is available in the Cyberster lineup, bringing the total number of colours to six. The latest being Mayfair Blue.
The Cyberster was launched in the second half of 2024 as the brandās halo car in the Australian market.
It featured some unique technologies not previously seen in an MG electric car, such as scissor-opening doors and a drop-top roof.Ā

Inside, the driver sits in a 3-screen cockpit centred around the steering wheel. The cockpit is also designed to offer an experience similar to a high-end racing simulator.
There is also a premium 8-speaker Bose sound system on offer with multiple speakers integrated into the scissor doors.
These features along with its unique sporty looks, have helped the brand sell over 60 by the end of March.
The Cyberster also comes with MGās 10 year, 250,000km warranty as well as being supported by the companyās nearly 100 dealers across Australia.
This latest variant is now available to order.
