Deepal, a brand of automotive giant Changan, has announced that it will expand its local lineup of vehicles with two new models.

These will include the Deepal S05 electric SUV along with what it calls a ute-like SUV model called the E07. These vehicles are expected to land locally in 2025, with the first local showcase happening in Sydney at the Everything Electric show.

The E07 model will be quite popular at the showcase, given the unique design that transforms it from an SUV into a utility vehicle with a tray in the back. According to Deepal, test drives will also be available for those interested in getting behind the wheel.

Alongside the E07, there will also be the S05 SUV on display, which slots under the brand’s local debut vehicle, the S07 electric SUV.Ā

Cormac Cafolla, GM of Deepal Australia, said: “The S05 is the beautiful smaller sibling to the S07, making it a great choice for anyone who wants all the innovation and performance of our EV tech, but in a more compact package,” said Cormac Cafolla, GM of Deepal Australia/

He described the E07 as a real game-changer. “It’s a unique mix of SUV and mini-truck, all wrapped up in a luxury trim for an unbeatable driving experience. I like to call it the automotive multi-tool, one that can take you on mountain trails, drop the kids off at school and still throw all your tools safely in the back.ā€

Deepal landed in the Australian market in the second half of 2024 with the launch of the S07 SUV. Prices of that model were unveiled at the Sydney International EV show in November, starting at $53,990 before on-roads.

For this price, drivers can expect a range of 475 km with its large 79.97 kWh lithium battery pack. This pack charges 30-80% on a DC fast charger in about 35 minutes at a peak charging speed of up to 92 kW. 11 kW AC charging is also available.

The brand is being bought into the local market by Inchcape, a global distribution company with a history of bringing Subaru and various other brands to the Australian market.

Everything Electric show will be held at Sydney Olympic Park over 3 days, 7th – 9th March 2025, for those interested in checking out the Deepal S05 & E07 vehicles.

Local specifications and pricing for both models will be revealed later this year before their official local launch.
