Video: Tesla’s sales plummet, and why Elon Musk is partly to blame

Elon Musk’s wealth has doubled to more than $US400 billion over the past year. But this close ties with US President Donald Trump appear to be hurting Tesla’s electric vehicle sales, which recorded a significant drop in Australia, Europe and California in January.

The Business host David Chau spoke with Giles Parkinson, founder of The Driven, about the various factors behind Tesla’s declining EV sales, including greater competition from cheaper Chinese brands like BYD.
