Australia’s biggest electric vehicle fast charging site is under construction, a 20-stall Tesla supercharger location in the southern highlands town of Goulburn that will add to the eight-site charging station in the town.

EV enthusiast Richard shared a photo on X of the site showcasing a number of Tesla V4 stalls capable of delivering up to 250 kW at each plug.

These chargers are also expected to be open to all EV drivers with cars that are compatible with the superchargers.

Located at Lockyer St, in Goulburn, the site is located close to a major fast-food restaurant and other amenities.

A photo of the site at night was shared by Nate M on the Tesla Owners Australia Facebook group, with lights at the site yet to be switched on.

Tesla already operates a site in Goulburn at Visitor Information Centre with 8 V2 stalls which are currently available to only Tesla drivers so this new site with the latest charging hardware will be welcomed by many needing a charge.

In Australia, Tesla’s operates over 100 active sites, with more than half opened to non-Tesla EVs, allowing all drivers with compatible cars to charge at the country’s most reliable charging network.

The company has been gradually growing it’s network with the 100th Australian supercharger site with a green and gold supercharger stall that was opened in South Australia back in September 2024.

Also in September, Tesla updated the local network map and added 30 new Supercharger sites around Australia, a big boost to the EV network nationally.

Since then, the company has opened almost one-third of the additional sites, with the latest data from carloop showcasing 109 active sites around the country.

The new site will take the crown as the biggest fast-charging site in Australia from Tesla’s Albury site, which opened in December 2023.

With the rising number of EVs making it onto the roads every month, major thoroughfares will see bigger sites in the coming years. It’s great to see Tesla leading the charge with building bigger and bigger sites, as it should encourage others to think big too.
