Ingenia Holiday Parks says it will roll out an expanded electric vehicle (EV) charging network across 11 of its parks on the east coast of Australia with 44 new EV charging ports, in time for the holiday period.
The network will offer “seamless” EV travel from Brisbane to Eden or Wagga Wagga in New South Wales, and Ingenia says the rollout of EV chargers will also include 28 new chargers on individual cabins.
Specific sites with EV chargers installed include Byron Bay, One Mile Beach, Soldiers Point and Wagga Wagga.
The expansion builds on the success of Ingenia’s initial rollout of five public EV chargers across three parks in 2023 and will be backed by funding secured in the second round of the NSW Electric Vehicle Destination Grants.
EV drivers have already utilised 4.2MWh of electricity through Ingenia’s five existing public EV chargers.
“We are thrilled to be expanding our EV charging network to meet the growing demand from electric vehicle drivers,” said Matthew Young, executive general manager for tourism at Ingenia.
“Whether guests are recharging their car at one of our parks or enjoying the added benefit of a private cabin charger, we’re making EV travel more accessible than ever.”
