Upcoming electric car brand Zeekr has had another win with the approval of its first vehicle in the local market, the all-new Zeekr X.
Electric vehicle enthusiast WIll K shared the findings on the Electric Vehicles for Australia facebook group with the Zeekr X on the approved vehicles list.
Two variants of the new SUV have been approved from the listings on the governmentās Register of Approved Vehicles register. These include a rear-wheel-drive model with a motor that outputs 200 kW.

There is also another all-wheel-drive variant that can produce up to 315 kW by adding another front motor with a 115 kW peak output.
One interesting area pointed out in the listing is the ground clearance for both variants which stands at 190 mm. This is 13 mm higher than the Volvo EX30 which shares a similar platform to the Zeekr X.
On the back of this, one fan said: āThatās what weāve been waiting for – ground clearance šā. Another was also impressed by the car and said: āYep. I like the look of this one. Hopefully sensibly priced and not silly money.ā

A braked towing capacity of 1600 kg has been approved for the compact electric SUV. Unbraked towing capacity remains at 750 kg.
Although information about the battery was limited in the approval documentation, the Zeekr X is expected to be powered by a 69 kWh lithium battery pack.
In recent weeks, a right-hand-drive Zeekr X had been spotted in NSW. The two-tone Zeekr X SUV was parked on a street and appeared to have just been delivered to the country in the pictures shared.
Zeekr is a Geely Holding Groupās premium EV brand and the Zeekr X is one of its small SUV offerings. On the other end of the scale, the brand also plans to launch a luxury people mover in the local market in the coming months.
Back in June, the compact SUV received EuroNCAPās 5-star safety rating which is likely to be carried over to Australian-delivered vehicles.

The latest approval brings the new stylish electric SUV closer to the official launch in the coming months with expected deliveries in Q4 this year.
Details of the pricing and variants are yet to be released and we look forward to test driving it to see how it stacks up against other electric SUVs on the market.
