Xpeng, one of the new Chinese EV makers to land in Australia, are starting the local line up with the G6 electric SUV and have been Ā busy testing them on Australian roads.
Now, new photos of the G6 have emerged. This time it’s an orange coloured vehicle with right hand drive steering and was seen parked in Sydney.
These latest photos were taken by Alphonsus/321Photography and reshared on X by EV enthusiast Roland L.
The spotted car appears to be a test vehicle with multiple pieces of wiring and other test equipment seen on the inside while it was parked.

The interior itself looks pretty minimalistic. There’s a large landscape centre screen that is very Tesla-like along with wireless charging pads and cup holders closer to the centre console.
On the driver side, steering wheel can be spotted which is more rectangular than in most EVs, which gives it unique look.
Behind the steering wheel there appears to be a smaller screen which is likely to display key driving and assistance features while on the move.

The latest siding comes only days after the local distributor sent an email highlighting that the model will be on showcase in Southern New South Wales over the weekend.
At this stage it’s unclear whether this car would be on display but it’s unlikely given the test equipment seen on the inside.
The G6 pre-orders opened a few weeks ago with two variants on offer. These initial vehicles can be pre-ordered with a $1,000 deposit.

No pricing has yet been announced, but according to the local distributor it’s expected in the coming months by September.
Having said that, this car has been priced closely to the best selling EV, the Tesla Model Y, in other markets.
As of July 2024, the Model Y starts at $55,900 before on-roads, which could give an indication of where the starting price of the G6 could be.
Local specifications are also yet to be announced but are likely in to be revealed imminently ahead of official customer deliveries in Q4 of 2024.
