New images of the “Ludicrous” version of the refreshed Tesla Model 3 electric sedan have emerged, ahead of what is expected to be a formal reveal in coming weeks.
Tesla unveiled the refreshed Model 3 in late 2023, with two variants made available for buyers. Since then, the performance variant, expected to be officially dubbed as “Ludicrous”, has not been available.
But in recent weeks, more details of the new Model 3 Performance are emerging with most recent sightings in the US suggesting that it could be weeks away.
Images emerged on X over the weekend of a red Model 3 “Ludicrous”, without any covering for the first time, sited at a showroom in Malibu, California.
It was posted by BooDev on the platform with a caption revealing a few details about the event and a potential leak of the new modelās 0-60 mph (miles per hour) time, with the suggestion that the new variant will be able to get to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds, down from the current 3.1 seconds.Ā
This would also translate to around a 0.2-second improvement for the Australian metric system of 0-100 km/h, Ā which currently stands at 3.3 seconds. It would bring this sprint time to just over 3.1 seconds.

These new images also show the rear spoiler, diffuser and the front splitter. There is more aggressive styling on the front bumper, which is a key differentiator over the RWD and Long Range variants.
In Australia, the updated RWD variant currently starts at $61,900, meanwhile, the Long Range is $10,000 more with local pricing at $71,900 before on-road costs.
