Savic Motorcycles, an Australian electric motorcycle startup, has delivered its all-electric motorcycle to its first Victorian customer, just months after high-speed testing at the iconic Phillip Island race track.
Marc Alexander, 53, is the third customer on the C-Series production schedule and an experienced rider, having owned multiple motorcycles including, the Ducati Streetfighter V4S and the BMW R1200GS.
He said his delivery could not come soon enough, and says the future of motorbikes is electric.

“There’s something truly amazing about the quiet, responsive acceleration, and the focus it brings to your ride. I believe that electric is the future of propulsion, and I’m excited to be part of this journey with Savic Motorcycles.
“Putting money down as the first Victorian customer in 2018 was my way of supporting an innovative Australian company and getting to enjoy a class-leading electric motorbike.”
Company founder, Dennis Savic says the C-Series motorcycle includes an electric motorcycle drivetrain that had to be integrated into a lightweight aluminium frame within the classic lines of the motorcycle.
In the top-spec Alpha variant, it produces up to 60 kW of power. This variant has a starting price of $26,990.
It includes a 16.2kWh battery and 60kW motor that delivers 200Nm torque and acceleration to 100km/hr in 3.5 seconds in its top-of-the-range format.
The C-Series Delta starts at $19,990 ride-away. It’s equipped with a 14.2kWh battery system outputting 40kW and over 140Nm.
Both bikes are developed on Savic Motorcycles’ SM1 production platform which offers a modular architecture for different battery, motor and inverter technologies.
Savic Motorcycles began its journey back in 2016 and since then has developed six prototypes of the C-Series.
Along the journey, the Melbourne-based startup has raised $1.22 million from 411 investors to get the motorcycle to where it is today.
According to the company, it is the first high-performance electric road bike that’s designed and assembled in Australia for passionate motorcyclists who care about a cleaner future. It says there are another 200 eager customers ready to take it onto the track.
