Back in 2019, Tesla unveiled its Cybertruck design to the world. Since then the company has taken over a million reservations for the angular utilitarian truck with expected off-roading and towing capabilities.
Now, less than 10 days from customer deliveries, an ad has been spotted that appears to outline the Cybertruck’s towing capacity.
The ad which dubs the Cybertruck as “Designed to be the world’s toughest truck”, was spotted by a Tesla enthusiast Dylan and shared on X.
In the banner, a picture of the Cybertruck highlights five features, including the towing specs:
It’s unclear which variant of the vehicle has its specifications highlighted, but it’s expected that it would be for the top-of-the-range “Performance” variant which will be powered by a tri-motor powertrain.
Regardless, a towing capacity of 11,000 lbs puts the Cybertruck at an estimated 5-tonne tow rating, making it one of the most tow-capable electric vehicles on the market.
In recent weeks, several instances of the Cybertruck towing have been spotted. Earlier this month, a Cybertruck was spotted towing a large trailer.
On this large trailer, a Tesla Model Y along with a toolbox was spotted. That setup weighs more than the boat and trailer given the Model Y itself is over 2,000 kg.
Another more recent sighting was of the Cybertruck in Florida. This time, the vehicle was spotted towing a large boat.
The off-roading capabilities have also been seen in recent weeks with the Cybertrucks being spotted fully covered in mud and climbing hills found on off-roading tracks.
Tesla’s Cybertruck’s key specifications have been kept under wraps for a long time and aren’t expected to be announced until 30th November. This is a rare move by the company to the specifications in pre-delivery marketing material.
With less than 10 days to go, the teasing of these key specs is likely to create excitement for over a million order holders. A full list of variants and respective prices are also expected to be released at the delivery event later this month.
