Subaru has announced the pricing and indicative specifications of the Solterra – its first battery electric vehicle in Australia – with orders opening on Thursday.
The release follows the first sightingĀ of the Solterra on Australia roads in Melbourne – an engineering evaluation of the vehicle that is a twin of the Toyota bZ4x.
The Solterra will be priced from $77,990 before on roads, which puts it out of the range of the rebates still on offer in some Australian states.
Local variants on offer include:
- Solterra AWDĀ – $77,990 before on-roads
- Solterra AWD Touring – $83,690 before on-roads
Both variants with the AWD powertrain deliver 160 kW of power and 337 Nm of torque. This powertrain is paired with a 71.4 kWh battery pack that can deliver up to 414 km of range.
When it comes to charging the battery, 7 kW AC charging is on offer while up to 150 kW of DC charging helps the battery get from 20-80% in 30 minutes.
Subaru is renowned for its AWD powertrain which generally has a higher ground clearance. This is carried on with the Solterra offering 210 mm.
On the safety front, Subaruās safety suite with Vision Assist is offered as standard across both available variants.
The Solterra AWD is offered with 18-inch wheels while the Touring variant bumps these up to 20 inches.
Moving onto the inside, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen is on offer along with a 7-inch screen behind the steering wheel.
The full specs too the vehicle will be confirmed before the end of the year.
As standard across these variants, Subaru will be offering:
- 5 Year Service Plan
- 5 Year Roadside Assistance
- Carpet mats
- Cargo tray
- 2kW AC charging cable with 8 Amp wall plug
Interested buyers can order the car from today via Subaruās website or by visiting a Subaru dealer.Ā
More details on deliveries and full specifications are expected to be released by the end of the year.
