Hyundai’s Ioniq EVs have been doing quite well in Australia. In the early days, these very popular ground-up electric cars brought thousands of interested buyers to the company’s website so they could order their own Ioniq EV when the supply was limited.
In recent months, this has changed as more stock became available, buyers no longer needed to queue to buy a pre-configured Ioniq EV.
Now, Hyundai is offering an “exclusive Ioniq deal” to interested buyers to help them make the switch. In an email sent to Hyundai’s website subscribers, special offers on complimentary scheduled service were provided.
According to the email, buyers of the Ioniq 5 electric SUV or the Ioniq 6 sedan were in stock and are eligible: “You can now unlock 2 years/30,000km of complimentary scheduled servicing on the Ioniq 5 or 4 years/60,000km on the Ioniq 6. This exclusive offer is available for a limited time only.”
More specifically, the Ioniq 6 gets the most with 4-year/60,000 km complimentary servicing on offer. This covers two services for those owners that take advantage of this.
For the popular Ioniq 5, 2 years/30,000 km of complimentary servicing is provided.
Hyundai’s Ioniq range has had 1,124 sales in 2023. This is comprised of 707 Ioniq 5 SUVs and 417 Ioniq 6 streamliner sedans.
In recent weeks, Hyundai has also announced an upgraded Ioniq 5 which includes a new base variant with a slightly lower price to help more buyers get behind the wheel of this electric car.
With a starting price of $64,500 before on-roads, this base variant has a single-motor RWD powertrain which is also eligible for certain state and territory subsidies as it comes under the threshold.
The range on this vehicle with a smaller 58 kWh battery has been claimed to be up to 384 km on the WLTP cycle, making it ideal for city driving and occasional road trips.
Hyundai is also planning on releasing the new upgraded Kona electric SUV in the coming months which is expected to be priced under the base variant of the Ioniq 5. Official details of that EV and its pricing are yet to be confirmed but we expect more on this in the coming months.
