BYD, the second-best-selling EV brand in Australia, has announced that it will be opening its second Megastore in the country, this time in the inner-Brisbane suburb of Fortitude Valley, Queensland.

Last month, BYD opened its first Megastore in Sydney. The Megastore is a new concept that showcases EV technology to drivers while providing an educational experience in the world of electric cars and the future of transport.

An email invite has been sent with details of the new store which will be held on Thursday,  October 19, at 6 pm: According to BYD, the Brisbane Megastore opening will be the first time that its upcoming performance electric Sedan, the Seal will be on full show in Queensland.

The Seal is to be officially unveiled at an online event on October 17, at 7pm.

The first Megastore gave us a glimpse of what to expect in the Brisbane store. Inside the Sydney Megastore site, various experiences were on offer for EV enthusiasts and observers.

This included seeing BYD EV’s battery technologies as well as diving into what sits under BYD vehicles from the vehicle’s structural engineering point of view.

There was also a showcase of BYD’s line up which included the very popular Atto 3 SUV along with the more affordable BYD Dolphin.

The Atto 3 has sold over 10,000 units since first deliveries began in July last year. This is due to a combination of affordability, quality and SUV credentials it brought to the market.

The BYD Megastores are expected to offer a new experience for drivers looking for an EV or to learn more about what goes into making them. It’s offering educational experiences in a unique way to help bring more drivers on the journey.

The first store showcased the brand’s electric car range and blade-battery technology to dispel myths about electric cars. After the initial launch, the new store will be opened 6 days a week except Sunday. Other locations of the Megastores are yet to be announced.
