A truckload of Ford’s upcoming Mustang Mach-E electric sedan has been spotted in Melbourne ahead of first customer deliveries later this year.
This new batch of Mustang Mach-E was photographed by EV enthusiast, Anthony M and shared on Twitter/X. It shows a white Ford Mustang Mach-E on the top deck of a transporter truck. A black glass roof can also be seen on that car in that shot.

A clearer photo was also shared of a parked a blue Mach-E which has Victorian number plates on it. Both these vehicles are likely to be right-hand-drive demonstration cars as the first deliveries are expected to start next quarter.
Back in July, Ford announced the Australian specification of the Ford Mustang Mach-E. It is offered in three variants, including:
- Select
- Premium
- GT
The range starts with the Select model Mach-E Select with power output of 198 kW and 430 Nm of torque. It includes a 71 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack. This can deliver up to 470 km of range.
The Premium and the GT variants are both offered with a 91 kWh battery pack. Premium variant is powered by a single motor which has a maximum power output of 216 kW and shares the torque figure with the Select variant. With the larger battery pack, it can offer up to 600 km of range.
The top-of-the-range GT variant has a dual-motor AWD powertrain with 358 kW of power and 860 Nm of torque available. That helps propel the car from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.
Up to 490 km of range is available from the larger 91 kWh battery on this powerful variant.
Pricing of the Mustang Mach-E starts at $79,990 before on-roads for the Select variant and goes all the way up to $107.665 for the GT variant.
Ford’s first passenger EV in Australia will be available in seven colours and includes:
- Shadow Black (standard)
- Star White
- Space White
- Vapour Blue
- Grabber Blue
- Rapid Red
- Carbonised Grey
Given the Mustang Mach-E will be the first of a few passenger EV models Ford plans to bring into the Australian market, it’s important that it is received well by the market.
Recent sightings of the Ford F150 Lightning electric ute have also sparked curiosity amongst the EV community around Ford’s bigger plans for EV offerings in Australia.
Like most traditional brands, Ford’s EV models have been a bit slow to the party but we hope the Mustang Mach-E and other offerings can help the blue oval brand gain some momentum in a fast-shifting market that is demanding more EVs than ever before.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E is expected to arrive at Ford’s local dealers for customers in Australia from Q4 2023.
