The Driven has managed to gather all, or at least nearly all, the sales data for electric vehicles in Australia for the month of August and the year to date.

The clear winners are still the two Tesla offerings, the Model Y and the Model 3, which take the top two places, followed by the well received BYD Atto 3, which is heading for well over 10,000 sales for the year.

The rest are trailing a long way behind. The next best selling car, the MG ZS EV, appears to have hit a slump in sales in August and dropped to eight for the month, possibly as consumers turn their attention towards the lower priced and newer MG4.

Other strong movers in the month are the newly launched EVs with sub-$40,000 Ā variants, the MG4 – which debuted at number 5 for its first month of sales with 296. The GWM Ora added much fewer in the month, just 90 to take its total to 212.

The Volvo XC recharge and the Ā Kia EV6 also did well, with the latter possibly benefiting from sale of the high performance GT version, and the Cupra Born also had one of its better months for the year.
