New 2024 Tesla Model 3 gets rave review from Fully Charged: “The best just got better!”

Tesla last week finally unveiled its new upgraded Tesla Model 3 in certain markets, including in Australia, where an order page has already been opened.

Now we are starting to get reactions from various publications in Europe, including the Fully Charged Show and its star present Robert Llewellyn, who got to test drive the newest Model 3 on the streets of Oslo in Norway.Ā 

For some context, Llewellyn drives a Model 3 as his daily car and in his review, he mentions: ā€œI love my Tesla Model 3 no question about it. but this is sounding rather tasty.”

Llewellyn says there is no doubt that the car is an improvement from his current 2023 Tesla Model 3

“It’s going to be something that a load of Tesla owners are going to go, ‘I want that one’. And I’m one of them, you know, I’ve got a brand new Tesla 2023 Tesla Model 3 and I want this one, so I think that shows that it’s definitely an improvement.”

Some of the highlights in his review and test drive included:

  • Lots of subtle changes to the Model 3 design
  • The design of the front of the vehicle has been upgraded to make the car even more efficient
  • Lowest drag co-efficient of any production Tesla, Cd of 0.219
  • No apparent changes to the battery or drivetrain
  • Improved range by 5-8% via design and efficiency as the car slips through the air
  • Bonnet design improved for better airflow channelling, reducing interior noise while increasing efficiency
  • Lights are fully condensed into a narrow LED strip (with separate foglights removed and integrated into this strip)
  • 18-inch wheels are similar with slight design improvements to the aero hubcaps
  • Side impact protection in the doors improved to really take safety considerations to another level
  • Door thunk is very ā€œchunkyā€
  • The whole vehicle now has acoustic glass to help improve cabin noise reduction
  • Rear-diffuser and removal of the Tesla logo from the rear
  • Rear seats are much more comfortable and have more room
  • Screen in the back to control air vents in the back
  • Watch movies in the back with Bluetooth headphones without interrupting the driver at the front
  • Front seats now come with ventilation and can detect body temperature for auto heating/cooling
  • Indicating will require a bit of learning with the buttons
  • The car is ā€œtop of the classā€ with electric vehicles
  • Screen wipers control now also on the steering wheel
  • New 17-speaker system (up from 14-speakers in premium audio)
  • Upgraded microphones in the car for improved phone calls
  • Screen space slightly improved
  • Improving a car that was already ā€œstunningā€
  • Charging speeds of up to 250 kW for the Long Range model
  • Huge improvement on the existing car

In Australia, the Model 3 right-hand-drive order configurator is already open for the new 2024 while the UK still has the previous car available to order.Ā
