Australia’s SEA Electric has announced  new delivers for its 85e electric trucks to Alsco Australia, which specialises in uniform and linen rental services.

These trucks will be sent to Alsco’s Melbourne and Sydney locations and offer a maxim power of 125 kW along with 1,500 Nm of torque. The powertrain is fed by a 138 kWh battery pack, with range of up to 300kms.

“In around 2017, we noticed that conversations were changing in the marketplace, and customers were demanding more of us in terms of a better future and our ongoing legacy,” said Mark Roberts, the CEO of Alsco Australia.

“We’ve listened to our customers, and we are driving our business differently, which includes reassessing our environmental impact and how we interact with our local communities.”

It’s good to see various large businesses making the shift to electric delivery trucks. As of 2023, electric trucks are offered by companies like SEA Electric in various sizes from 4.5 tonnes through to larger 22.5 tonnes variants for larger haulage applications.

Electric trucks are quieter and cleaner for our roads, helping decarbonise road transport in Australia.
