Cybertruck wrapped up to make it look like a Ford F150 Lightning hits the road

Tesla’s Cybertruck is one of the most anticipated vehicles ever. Customer deliveries are yet to begin, but excitement is stoked each time one of the pre-production models is spotted in the wild.

The latest sighting shows a Tesla Cybertruck “wrapped” in a way that to many will appear just like a regular Ford F150 Lightning. It was spotted and shared by Cybertruck enthusiast, Greggertruck.

The blue truck, the distinctive tail lights, door handles and concealing angular start of the truck bed with a wrap are all signs that show that a lot of work went into its design.

There were mixed reactions, with some enthusiasts showcasing the EV production advantage Tesla has. “Tesla should build the first 100k with this wrap so that  they can say they built more Ford Lightnings than ford 😂”, one said.

Others really liked the look of it and would find it hard to distinguish between the Cybertruck and an F150. “Look at the tail lights, clearly a Ford F150!”, another enthusiast jokingly commented.

This would make this the third wrap spotted on the Cybertruck in recent months. That hints that either Tesla is trying to hide a few of the final details before mass production or just marketing the product in a very unique way, now that it’s only months away from customer deliveries.

Either way, it’s a great way to get the attention of many in the community along with media such as that picked up by Brian Sullivan, a reporter from CNBC and shared on Twitter:

The shared image shows the rear of the truck with the F150 tail lights also clearly visible along with the indentations found in the tailgate of the truck.

Latest sightings also provide creativity to many order holders who may like a different look on the truck. With not as many options on exterior paint available to order holders, it’s clear that some may choose to go down this path.

At a recent earnings call last week, Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, reiterated how unique this vehicle is and how much technology is on offer:

“We want to emphasise, that the Cybertruck has a lot of new technology,” Musk said. “It doesn’t look like any other vehicle because it’s not like any other vehicle.”

Musk also mentioned that the production will begin later this year. After the ramp up, full production is not likely to occur until 2024. Pricing and specifications of the truck are yet to be confirmed but it’s expected to happen by Q4 this year.
