Tesla had a bumper second quarter of 2023 in Australia with sales of its two models exceeding 15,170. This was on the back of 16 ships with Teslaās on board reaching our shores.
Now it seems that things arenāt slowing down for Australiaās leading EV brand. According to Australian Tesla ship tracking expert, VedaPrime, just 11 days into the quarter, three ships are already on their way.
The 3rd #Tesla Australian ship to arrive this time on the east coast in Q3 2023 is Turandot

All three of these ships are heading towards the east coast, according to these reports from VedaPrime, which is a good indicator that Tesla is continuing the elevated levels of supply for local customers.
Given last quarterās sales spread across 16 delivery shipments, the average of 982 vehicles per shipment (on the east and west coast) can be calculated. Using the same average Tesla count per ship, 2,946 vehicles would be expected over three shipments.Ā
This news comes on the back of recent price cuts when $3,500 was taken off the price of Model 3 and Model Y vehicles at the beginning of this quarter.

To further accelerate the sales of Tesla vehicles in Australia, Tesla has also amped up its referral program. This applies to new and existing customers providing more savings than previously on offer.
As of July 7, 2023, new Model 3 and Model Y customers can save an additional $750 of their vehicleās purchase price. As an additional sweetener, Tesla is also offering three months of Enhanced Autopilot software upgrade to the referees.
There is more good news for new customers of Model Y vehicles. Many are now expected to receive vehicles with a Pedestrian Warning System (PWS), the boombox feature and a new parcel shelf free of charge.Ā
The new additions appear to be on Model Y vehicles built from late May, onwards.
The news of thousands more Tesla vehicles would be good news for many buyers who are going to be receiving their new EVs. Ā
But it also means that used car prices are likely to come down further and the impact of recent price cuts will also flow on to this market. This would put downward pressure on used EV prices, making EVs accessible to more people than ever before.
