Nio, the premium EV maker, has announced that it will be debuting its ET5 electric sedan for the UK market at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex, England. That’s according to a report by cnevpost.

The annual motorsports event will have Nio UK’s managing director, Matt Galvin, make the announcement about the launch of the ET5.Ā

Dear UK Fans,

We are going to the iconic @fosgoodwood Goodwood Festival of Speed with NIO ET5 making its debut! šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§

This would be welcomed news by many in the UK as it would be one of the first markets to be offered Nio products in right-hand-drive configurations.

The ET5 sedan, with its sleek looks and tail lights that stretch across the width of the vehicle,Ā had its first European deliveries earlier this year in March.

It comes in ten distinct colours which offer plenty of choices for European customers. According to Nio, many of these are inspired by the ā€œskyā€.

On the inside, The ET5 has a 12.8-inch centre infotainment and controls screen and Nio’s own personal voice assistant called Nomi.

When it comes to performance from its drivetrain, the ET5 is equipped with two motors that produce 360 kW of power and 700 Nm of peak torque. This propels the car from 0-100 km/h in 4 seconds.

Various battery packs are also on offer along with battery swap stations in multiple locations around Europe.Ā

The largest 150 kW battery pack can offer up to 1,000 km of range on the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC) which would translate to an estimated 700 km of WLTP range.Ā

Prior to this announcement, the EV brand has been making some bold moves by launching in multiple new European markets. Part of Nio’s ownership experience is the Nio House stores.Ā

So far, there are three stores in Europe. Two in Germany which are located in Frankfurt and Berlin along with the solo Norway Nio House store in Oslo. It’s expected for this rollout to continue including new markets like the UK where the ET5 will debut.

This is good news for many right-hand-drive markets as the success in the UK could see Nio cars make their way to other right-hand-drive markets like Australia and New Zealand in the coming years.
