MG’s long range EV arrives in Australia as part of biggest ever shipment

MG has delivered its largest single shipment of cars to Australia, including the highly anticipated MG ZS EV Long Range models.

The vessel, called Viking Emerald, is owned by MG’s parent company SAIC and arrived in Port Kembla, NSW straight from Shanghai.

Onboard were 3,100 new MG vehicles including the new MG ZS EV Long Range model that was launched at the Fully Charged Live event in Sydney in March.

ā€œWe have many exciting plans for Australia in the near future for electric vehicles, starting with the official launch and deliveries of the MG4 this year,”Ā MG Motor Australia and New Zealand CEO, Peter Ciao said.

The MG4 had its pricing officially announced earlier this month after also being unveiled at Fully Charged Live show in Sydney.Ā 

The all-electric hatchback will be offered in two battery packs of 64 kWh and 77 kWh where the latter will be able to deliver up to 530 km of WLTP range. Variants and pricing of the MG4 is:

  • 64kWh Excite (450 km WLTP range) – $44,990 plus on-road costs
  • 64kWh Essence (435 km WLTP range) – $47,990 plus on-road costs
  • 77kWh Essence (530 km WLTP range) – $55,990 plus on-road costs

Other models on this latest shipment included hybrid variants like the MG HS Plus EV, MG3 and MG ZST.
