Volvo has teased a new all-electric SUV that will join its line-up of ground-up electric cars in Australia. It will be the smallest electric car in its line-up.
A sneak peek of the new vehicle was shared on a video by the Swedish brand along with an email sent to Australian customers:
āMake way for something small – Big in every way. Except in size. Everything youād expect in a Volvo car ā only in a smaller package. Meet the new, fully electric Volvo EX30 on June 7. Our smallest ever SUV.ā
The teaser video showcases Volvoās signature rear lights but from a zoomed-out shot. There is also a shot of the front light bar with a dual strip of LED lights on the show.Ā
Then the video dives into the interior where only the seats are revealed with a Swedish flag stitched on the side.

The news comes after Volvo has been selling the XC40 Recharge and the C40 Recharge in the Australian market in recent years.Ā
Both these vehicles are built on ICE platforms which the EX30 is expected to ditch to a full battery electric architecture.
The EX30 will also be much smaller than the EX90 large SUV which Volvo unveiled last year.

Ā Volvo will unveil the new EX30 on YouTube on June 7 at 9:30pm AEST:
Pre-orders of the EX30 are also expected to open on the same date for certain markets. More details will be revealed closer to the date.
Volvo has set some industry-leading commitments in Australia to only sell EVs by 2026. With smaller models now being introduced by Volvo, it looks like they are moving towards that goal quickly.Ā
