Peugeot opens pre-orders, reveals pricing, for e-2008 electric SUV in Australia

Peugeot Australia has advanced plans to bring its first passenger electric car into the market by the third quarter of this year – e-2008 all-electric SUV.

Pre-orders for the e-2008 SUV have opened along with the announcement of the pricing which will start at $59,990 before on-road costs.

The -2008 will have a 50 kWh battery pack to power a 100 kW motor with a maximum of 260 Nm of torque. This setup will provide up to 328 km range in the WLTP standard.

For that price, some standard features included in the upcoming local model include:

  • Keyless entry with push-button start
  • Proximity locking
  • Gloss black and dual chrome highlights
  • Triple claw rear LED lights

The new electrified model will be available in six colours with Orange Fusion being the only included paint. The six paints on offer include:

  • Orange Fusion – standard option
  • Nera Black – metallic paint – ($690)
  • Artense Grey – metallic paint – ($690)
  • Vertigo Blue – premium paint – ($1050)
  • Elixir Red – premium paint – ($1050)
  • Pearl White – premium paint – ($1050)

On the inside, Apple Carplay and Android Auto are also available on the infotainment screen.

It has 11 kW of AC charging but can also be DC fast-charged up to 80% in 30 minutes at a 100 kW charger.

“The e-2008 is going to be an important and eagerly anticipated addition to the local range as we continue on our electrification journey,” said Kate Gillis, the head of Peugeot Australia.

“The impending arrival will signify our first fully electric passenger vehicle on sale in Australia and provides us with the opportunity to further expand on the success of the premium 2008 SUV range.

“We are confident the e-2008 will provide discerning customers with a design-focused electric SUV and it is with great excitement that pre-orders are opening today.”

On the warranty front, the e-2008 will come with a five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty which also includes five years of roadside assistance.

Servicing costs over 5 years equate to $1,522 with details on the pricing and plans listed below.

The e-2008 SUV will be landing in Q3 of this year with a limited initial allocation arriving at Peugeot dealerships.
