Cybertruck massive wiper seen in action as hiring spree begins

Tesla’s Cybertruck testing has started in Texas and for the first time, the massive wiper on the futuristic truck has been spotted in use. 

It was captured by a Tesla enthusiast and professional drone pilot operator Brad Sloan on YouTube after doing a drone flyover of Tesla’s GigaTexas factory.

The Cybertruck appears to be in front of an external wind-tunnel setup while parked on a platform at one end of it. 

A vehicle testing staff member is standing next to the windscreen is seen to be holding a bottle that seems to be used to add moisture to the truck’s huge glass windscreen. This would allow the windscreen wiper to sense moisture and activate to remove it.

Most of Tesla’s vehicles have two wiper blades but it appears Tesla will manage with just one on the Cybertruck which gives the front that extra industrial and rugged look too.

The large wiper blade has been spotted on various prototypes over the last couple of months but every now and then is removed from some.

Along with the wiper being tested, sightings of the huge opened frunk have pleased many order holders. 

The opened frunk spotting was thanks to a Cybertruck enthusiast, Greggertruck on Twitter. This will provide a huge space for owners to store larger objects and be able to load them easily into the front storage compartment.

On the back of these Texas-based sightings, many new Cybertruck production and manufacturing jobs have appeared on Tesla’s careers page.

Tesla has over 70 new jobs being advertised now for Cybertruck-related roles. These roles relate to many parts of the Cybertruck production including:

• Casting
• Stamping
• Body
• General Assembly
• Battery
• Drive Unit
• Paint

The Paint jobs are the most interesting given the Cybertruck would be one of the first vehicles in decades with a steel outer body that won’t be painted. 

This could be for painting other parts of the Cybertruck and we look forward to learning more about them from Tesla at the product launch event later this year.

With all this activity finally beginning and testing now being done at Texas, more details are coming to light on what the final product will look like. 

The huge wiper blade, large frunk and triangular mirrors are to name a few of these changes picked up in recent months which would excite many customers and may disappoint a few. 

Now with many jobs coming through for the Cybertruck and looking at previous product development cycles from Tesla, the launch of the highly anticipated Cybertruck can only be months away.
