Kia has released two videos on its official global YouTube channel giving eagerly awaiting large electric SUV buyers a bit of a glimpse of what’s to come.

The new videos focus on highlighting the Kia EV9’s exterior design. They run over the sleekness of the large SUV model without giving too much away.Ā

The first video touches on the silhouette of the flagship SUV model. It features the signature front along with the external body of the car.

This video gives the viewers an idea of the length of the all-electric large SUV from the brand.

The second video features the lights and the role they will play in the overall design of the EV9.

The SUV can be seen creating unique lighting patterns from the front and rear lamps. It would be good to see it in person when the car is unveiled later this year. Whether it’s as impressive as the Tesla light show remains to be seen.

Like the Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq5 and Genesis GV60, the Kia EV9 is built on the dedicated battery electric vehicle platform, Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).

This unique platform allows vehicles built on it to charge extremely quickly. Other vehicles like the Ioniq 5 can charge from 10-80% in 18 minutes at a 350 kW charger.

In January, the specs of the Kia EV9 were accidentally leaked in the US through a Kia customer survey that was sent to existing customers.

The survey showed a rear-wheel drive base option starting at $US56,000 ($A80,000) while the top-of-the-range all-wheel drive could be advertised for $73,000 ($A104,000).

Currently, the Kia EV6 SUV in Australia starts at over $72,500 before on-roads and goes all the way up to $99,900 for the top GT variant.

The range was shown to be between 354 km all the way up to 467 km in the more efficient single-motor variant.

Last year Kia Australia’s GM of Products, Roland Rivero, confirmed that the EV9 would make it to Australian shores.

Kia will fully reveal both the exterior and interior design in mid-March, and the product information will be fully disclosed during the Kia EV9 World Premiere in late March.

We just hope that Kia can deliver these popular SUVs in large numbers when this large all-electric SUV lands here. That could be as early as late 2023 but further details will be confirmed closer to the local launch.
