As more drivers get behind the wheel of a Tesla electric vehicle for the first time, there is so much to learn as many aspects of EV ownership are different to driving a petrol or diesel-powered vehicle.Ā

To make things easier for new and existing, Tesla has just opened a new Youtube channel that’s dedicated to tutorials around Tesla’s range of EVs.

In Australia, nearly 20,000 new Teslas were sold in the last 12 months. For many, it’s their first EV so having easy-to-access Tutorials on Tesla Model 3 and Model Y would improve the overall ownership experience.

The new channel’s tutorial list for Australia’s most popular Tesla models includes:

  • Essentials
  • Charging
  • Physical Controls
  • Touchscreen
  • Autopilot
  • Software
  • Support

In the Essentials video, Tesla runs through the key areas of owning a Model 3 or Model Y. The video covers everything from getting into the car, setting up driver profiles, what regenerative braking is, and a quick rundown on charging.Ā

Charging is one of the most important differences between a ICE or an all-electric vehicle so Tesla has a video on that topic itself to guide new owners on how to get the most out of their ownership. The video runs through supercharging as well as public charging a Tesla Model 3 & Model Y.

The other five videos teach new Tesla owners how to use the buttons on their steering wheel as well as other manual functions, touchscreen and Autopilot functions.Ā

Tesla with the new tutorial channel videos also shows how owners can connect their new Tesla Model 3 and Model Ys to Wi-Fi at home. This helps owners keep their cars up to date with the latest software to enhance the ownership experience.Ā

There is also a video about the support Tesla owners have when things may go wrong. This covers rebooting your infotainment system which can come in handy in various situations as well as roadside assistance and Tesla servicing. A full playlist of the videos for Tesla Model 3 and Model Y owners is also available here: Tutorials for Tesla Model 3 and Model Y

These tutorials also extend to other vehicles such as the Tesla Model S and Model X which are currently not available for sale in Australia. It’s also unlikely that we will see these vehicles in the country before Q4 2023.

The Driven’s take: This is a great initiative for Tesla owners. Many of these videos were available on Tesla’s official channel since late last year but were harder to find. Now, these are on a dedicated YouTube channel which makes it easier for owners and buyers to find them to enhance their Tesla ownership experience.
